Product Review: J2Couture Lipstick

I love a good, long lasting lipstick. That describes the lipstick I purchased from J2Couture. I met the owner Candance, at the Spring Into the Mix networking event. We didn’t really talk for long, but I got her business card and connected with her on social media.

The color that I purchased is called Joyride. As I stated above, it’s a great color and long lasting. It’s not the kind of lipstick that you have to reapply often. I like how it feels when I apply it on my lips.  It also smells really good. I never had a lipstick that smelled like that. I actually think the smell is one of my favorite things about it lol.

Another thing that absolutely love about it is the packaging. The container that the lipstick comes in is so cute. It looks high end. Like something that would be sold at Ulta or Department stores.

If you’re looking for a new lipstick, I would give J2Coutrue a try! Take a look at the color in the photo below. Also in the picture, I’m wearing one of the necklaces from my online jewelry store Carter Collection 🙂

Oh Honey Skin Care Lip Balm

Hello readers. My recent beauty item that I can add to my Favorite Things list is the lip balm from Oh Honey Skin Care. I use it everyday.  It’s an all natural lip balm. The flavor that I purchased is citrus. Its smells good and I like how it feels on my lips.

The owner’s name is Brittney. I have not met her in person, but we talk on Instagram sometimes. She seems very nice. I hope to meet her when I’m Atlanta sometime. Other products that she sells is facial polish, purifying masks and body scrubs. If you sign up for her newsletter on her website, you can receive a discount.

This is a really great product that I knew not long after I used it that it would be one of my favorite items.

Youth Vision Board Workshop

With all the things going on with today’s society, I think it’s very important to have mentoring groups for the youth. Ucher Dent felt that way too. She is the founder of No More Shackles Mentoring Program. It is a Biblical based program, which I love. The program provides advocacy, guidance, support, encouragement through several mentoring programs to work through potential barriers which may impede a mentee’s positive productivity in the seven areas of life balance. The 7 areas of life balance that they focus on are social, spiritual, learning/personal development, vocational/career/business, financial, physical, and family. That is so great to me.

The vision board workshop that they hosted went very well. I took one of the girls from my church. The panel was great and gave the youth very good advice. The panel included the following:

Cyneta Hill, Founder of Graceful Home Aging.

Stephanie Tillman, Vice Presidentof Compliance and Assistant General Legal Counsel with  Flowers Foods Inc.

Charles McCloud, Thomas County Coroner candidate.

Carloyn Simmons, Director of the Thomas County Health Department

It was facilitated by Dr. Demetria Hill Cannady,  A Work in Progress LLC, LPC, PHD.

If you know a teen in the Thomasville area that could benefit from the No More Shackles Program or if you would like to be a mentor, you can contact them at

Product Review: Sugar Scrub by Fire & Bliss

I love all natural body products. I love how they feel on my skin and how they smell. My cousin has a business called Fire & Bliss that sells all natural products. I had been wanting to try to her sugar scrub, so she brought me some to our family reunion that we had this month. It smells great and it made my skin feel good! I will definitely be ordering more. I want to try her body butter as well. My sugar scrub contained the following oils: jojoba, eucalyptus and lavender. When you order from her, she has a variety of oils that you can choose from for your product. I love her and this product. Please visit her website and check our her other products 🙂
